Dependant
Definition

A family member of a main applicant who is included in the same CBI / RBI application — typically a spouse, children below an age threshold, and qualifying parents.

Also known as
Family dependant

A family member of a main applicant who is included in the same CBI / RBI application — typically a spouse, children below an age threshold, and qualifying parents.

A Dependant, in the investment-migration context, is a family member who is included in the main applicant's application under the programme's eligibility rules. Universally-recognised dependants are: the legally-recognised spouse and biological / adopted children up to a specific age (typically 18–30, with extensions for full-time students and disabled children of any age).

After the 2024 OECS harmonisation, all five Caribbean CBI states permit parents and grandparents over 55 (with financial-dependency declaration) and unmarried siblings under 30 as dependants. Adult unmarried children up to 30 are typically included with the child-of-applicant per-head fee.

Dependants share the legal status granted to the main applicant — full citizenship in CBI programmes, residency in RBI programmes — and pay per-head supplementary fees on the government and due-diligence sides.
